A strange iMessage bug that deletes the last word of some messages has been discovered by iPhone users, reports The Verge. There are two main phrases that are circulating online...
Attempting to send "I could be the next Obama" followed by a trailing space will result in Obama's name being hidden from the received message. Everything looks fine until you hit the "send" button, after which — on both screens — the final word vanishes and is replaced with blank space. ... "The best prize is a surprise" seems to be another phrase that triggers the phenomenon.
Interestingly, copying and pasting the message will reveal the missing word.
Users have been complaining about the issue for months and it seems to extend beyond these two examples. An Apple support thread from December detailed the problem but it appeared to be fixed with iOS 6.1 for some.
Apple hasn't commented on the issue yet.
