iPhone 5S Components to Start Shipping at the End of May for 3Q Launch?

Components for the next generation iPhone will reportedly start shipping at the end of May, reports DigiTimes. The site says the new device could be ready for launch in the third quarter of 2013.

The new iPhone will not receive a major upgrade and may just be a slightly enhanced version of iPhone 5 (iPhone 5S), the sources said citing their latest specification data. Meanwhile, there are also rumors stating that Apple also plans to release an iPhone model using plastic chassis to push its global smartphone market share, the sources added.

The sources say the device will feature a higher-end processor as well as a camera with more megapixels. If components are shipped smoothly, manufacturers should be able to deliver assembled devices to retailers about 1-2 weeks later.
