Apple Allows Users to Report Unwanted iMessage Spam

A new knowledge base article that appear on Apple's website introduces an iMessage spam reporting tool to let users report unwanted messages to Apple.

To report unwanted iMessage messages to Apple, please send an email with the following details to: imessage.spam@icloud.com

1. Include a screenshot of the message you have received.
2. Include the full email address or phone number you received the unwanted message from.
3. Include the date and time that you received the message.

While iOS 7 will allow users to block certain contacts in Messages, Phone and Facetime applications, users on older iOS versions will not be able to use that feature. Users on iOS 6 can also hide alerts from anyone not in their contacts. However, if someone is getting spammed via iMessage on an older version of iOS then this tool will be helpful.
